We Are Wester Hailes: New Online Directory Launched

The Wester Hailes Connects Partnership are happy to announce the launch of We Are Wester Hailes a new online directory listing all the groups and organisations working in Wester Hailes.

We Are Wester Hailes is a website created collaboratively by organisations and groups working in Wester Hailes. It is a listings website for people living in the area to find out easily what activities and groups are happening locally; with the goal of creating an online directory of all the great things happening in Wester Hailes.

The idea around We Are Wester Hailes is to create an online space that simply outlines many of the activities and groups happening locally for children, young people, families and adults and across areas such as creativity, gardening, food, sports and much more. Not all groups working in the area have their own websites so we wanted to create one place to, at a glance, see all activities. It is hoped that smaller groups would be able to use the site to promote their activities without having to make or pay for their own website. It also serves as a place to share your ideas on what you would like to see happen or change in Wester Hailes

We Are Wester Hailes was created as part of Wester Hailes Connects, a digital skills project led by Prospect Community Housing with partners SCOREscotland, WHALE Arts, CHAI Edinburgh and Open Heavens Church. It is supported by Power Up an initiative by the Good Things Foundation with the financial support of J.P Morgan.

The We Are Wester Hailes website is supported by WHALE Arts and The Digital Sentinel however it will belong to the people, groups and organisations living and working in Wester Hailes and will not be owned by any one organisation or group.

Currently there are only 14 organisations listed however new groups can complete this form to be added
