Bookbug will be holding a special session at Wester Hailes Library as part of the Scottish Book Trust’s Bookbug Exhibition tour, celebrating 10 years of Bookbug Bags.

The session will take place on Friday 17 December 2021, 2.30pm. The session will include a Bookbug song & rhyme session, a guest appearance from the life-sized Bookbug mascot, a chance to discover all the stories which have been included in the Bookbug bags, and much more!

For children aged 0- 5 and their parents or carers

Further special events are planned and the exhibition will be on display throughout January and February too.

You can book for the event online here. As numbers are limited, please only book a free ticket for each adult attending. Children don’t need tickets. The session will be inside the Library in the Children’s area during opening hours.

A few things will be different in order to keep everyone safe:

• Session will be capped at 12 families. Please book a free ticket for each adult attending. Children don’t need tickets.

• Booking is essential and your details will be securely held on Eventbrite for NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect purposes.

• Adults will be asked to wear a face covering throughout the session (unless exempt).

• Hand sanitiser will be available on arrival.

• Windows will be open for ventilation, so you may want to bring warm clothing or an extra layer.

• While at the session please follow good hygiene practices (avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth. Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue and dispose of it safely).

• In the event the session is cancelled, you will be contacted via email.

• Plastic seating will be provided for parents and carers, with children on laps or in front of you on the carpet.

• Please do not attend the session if you or your children display symptoms or have tested positive for Coronavirus.

• Adults will be asked to remain 1m socially distant throughout the session . Children are not required to remain socially distanced during the session.
