Wester Hailes Library COVID Community Testing

Wester Hailes library first floor will be offering COVID-19 community testing from Monday 6 December 2021 – Saturday 11 December 2021, 9.00am – 6.00pm closed Sundays. Library services will continue to be offered during this time in the ground floor.

Testing is free, fast and safe for people with no symptoms. Entry is from the first floor door, or the ground floor and lift for those unable to use the stairs. You do not need to book an appointment, but you will need to register when you arrive. If you have a smartphone you will register with this. If you do not have a smartphone, a member of the team will register for you. Young people under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Testing is for people who live locally – in Wester Hailes, Sighthill, Broomhouse, Bankhead, Parkhead, Dumbryden, Hailesland, Clovenstone, Murrayburn, Westburn, The Calders and Saughton.

The test takes around 15 minutes and you should have your result in 45 minutes. If you test positive you will be asked to self-isolate and book a seperate PCR test to confirm. Please don’t eat or drink 30 minutes before taking the test to reduce the risk of spoiling the test.
