Edinburgh Council Election Results Announced

The results for the 2022 Local Government Elections have been announced with the Scottish National Party leading the council with 19 seats followed by the Labour Party with 13 seats.

The full run down for the Council is:

SNP – 19 Councillors
Labour Party – 13 Councillors
Liberal Democrats – 12 Councillors
Scottish Green Party – 10 Councillors
Conservative Party – 9 Councillors

The results for the Pentland Hills ward, where Wester Hailes is located, were:

  • BRUCE, Graeme – Scottish Conservative and Unionist elected at stage 1 with 2,531 votes (22.8% of the vote)
  • GARDINER, Neil Thomas – Scottish National Party (SNP) elected at stage 1 with 2,360 votes (21.3 of the vote)
  • GLASGOW, Fiona – Scottish National Party (SNP) elected at stage 9 with 1,115 votes (10.1% of the vote)
  • JENKINSON, Stephen Philip – Scottish Labour Party elected at stage 7 with 1,896 votes (17.1% of the vote)

Electorate: 24,312
Votes cast: 11,266
Turnout: 46.3%
