PHEW Sessional Worker Vacancy

Space is recruiting a Sessional Worker to join their community based Mental Health and Wellbeing (PHEW) service in South West Edinburgh, working with young adults aged 18-24 years.

The Sessional Worker role is part time working 5 hours per week (3 hours Thursday evenings 5.30pm-8.30pm, 2 hours to be used towards planning and attending meetings across the week), with a salary of £19,677 pro rata (based on full time working week of 36hrs). The role will be based at the Broomhouse Hub.

The post-holder will work alongside colleagues in our PHEW and Youth & Families team to improve the quality of life of young people in South West Edinburgh.

The Sessional Worker will assist the Project Worker in the delivery of a programme of interesting, fun and educational activities in consultation with young people to ensure they are at the centre of their own planning.

The programme is designed to improve the quality of life of young people age 18-25yrs in South West Edinburgh; providing young people with a safe space to connect with others and create opportunities for personal growth in confidence and self-esteem.

Our PHEW drop in support group is on a Thursday evening therefore the role includes a commitment of working 5.30pm until 8.30pm on a Thursday evening each week.  The rest of the hours are flexible across the week.

The candidates will need to have experienced of working with young people, with at least three years proven experience in a role which included individual and group work.
