The City of Edinburgh Council will be holding a Public Engagement Session of the plans for phase 2 of the new Wester Hailes High School at Wester Hailes Library on Tuesday 24 January 2022, 6.00pm – 7.30pm.
Phase 2 involves the creation of a new building which will replace the remaining four teaching blocks (B to E). Funding was approved for Phase 2 in December 2020 as part of the Scottish Government’s Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP). The new building will be a four-storey building on the existing site which, along with the refurbished Block A, will create a new community campus with contemporary learning and teaching space for an 800 student roll.
The Council are intending to submit a Planning application for the new Phase 2 building in March 2023. The engagement session will be part of a consultation period prior to formal submission of the planning application.
