Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust are pleased to be organising The 2025 Edinburgh Canal Festival – a celebration of the Union Canal and canalside community.
The free festival, open to all, is happening on Saturday 21 June 2025, 12 noon-5.00pm and features local businesses, organisations and local community groups that operate on or near the canal, year-round.
This year there will be three main activity zones due to ongoing construction work in Fountainbridge, but that doesn’t mean less fun!
Residents and visitors are invited to explore the Union Canal between the Lochrin Basin and Harrison Park and to meet some of the great organisations that operate year round on and near to the canal. There will be loads of free activities and entertainment as you travel along the canal in the heart of Edinburgh
Whether you’re enjoying water activities, grooving to live music, or simply soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.
The Raft Race will not be held at the Festival but instead is now a standalone event on 23rd August, featuring barge trips and even more watery fun. So, be sure to mark your calendars for that.
