Wester Hailes 2025 Fun Run rook place last weekend, and despite a heavy downpour towards the end a great time was had by all!
The event, which this year was included as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Clovenstone, took place on Saturday 7 June 2025 with over 70 runners and walkers taking part in the event. Fortunately the sun stayed out for most of the day with a short heavy downpour not enough to get the mood down.
The Fun Runners went from Clovenstone Community Centre, a loop around Clovenstone then down the hill and along the greenway, around Murrayburn, along the canal to a loop around Hailes Quarry park and through Walkers before heading back up the hill to the Community Centre for a total of 5km and a well deserved medal!
The race was followed up by a delicious meal cooked by the Health Agency with the WHALE Arts Street Arts team on hand with an art activity for young people.
Well done to the Fun run Planning Group on putting the day together.
This year the prize winners were:
- 1st man back: 106 – Ross Pearson
- 1st woman back: 224 – Jenny Spence
- 1st under 14 boy back: 126 – Dexter Lee
- 1st under 14 girl back : 212 – Cerys Kenny
