The Friends of Hailes Quarry park will be holding a Mini-Gala this Saturday 21 June 2025, 12.00pm – 4.00pm.
There is lots planned all through the day with different activities and even a dog show! Have alook at the full programme of activities here:
- 12.00pm -12.30pm at the Herb Garden: Pasta Salad
- 12.30pm – 1.00pm at the Herb Garden: Live Music from Val and her group The Sheilas playing music on combs and paper!
- 1.00pm – 1.30pm on the Sports Pitch: Dog Show: Bring your dog along and see if they can win Best Dressed Dog; Cutest Pup; Owner Lookalike; Best Trick; Golden Oldie (best senior dog); or Waggiest Tail.
- 2.00pm – 3.00pm on the Sports Pitch: ABDA Dance Showcase: local young people who have been training in dance at ABDA dance school with the WHY Project at Gate 55 will be putting on a 1-hour dance performance.
All afternoon:
- On the Sports Pitch: Frisbee Tournament: Pete Dawson will be showing folk how to play Disc Golf – this is a course of nets that you try and throw a frisbee into. There will be a course set up on the day, and you can enter your score to try and win a category in the tournament. This is suitable for all ages, and there will be wee prizes for adults and children.
- In the Herb Garden: Herbal Recipes: As part of the Power of Food festival, they are offering free printouts of recipes using herbs that they grow, such as thyme, chives, and pumpkin leaves.
- Information table: An information table detailing everything happening on the day with leaflets of other activities in the area
- Bake Sale: There will be vegan bliss balls, vegan banana bread, and other things for you to try!
- Raffle: We are selling raffle tickets to fundraise for the Friends group.
CHAI Advisors: Sean and Agnieska from CHAI will be there to chat to anyone who would like to get advice about benefits and housing or other financial issues like debt.
