Police Scotland have released a new booklet giving information on their Community policing teams and policies for the South West of Edinburgh.
This booklet details some of the changes that have occurred since October 2016 where the Police’s community policing teams were restructured. It details the roles within the teams and who your community policing officers are, as well as their priorities which include:
- Serve and engage with the local community, improving their visibility and presence
- Prevent crime, tackling local needs and developing solutions to local issues
- Enhance and develop our work with partners to improve our services for local communities, including earlier intervention, prevention and education
They have also created a short video which introduces some of the members of the community team and tell you a bit about their role. The community team have also been distributing leaflets across the area with their details and an overview of their structure.
