An Update from Edible Estates

Wester Hailes Edible Estates has released an update on the development of the Wee Soup Garden in Hailesland and their ongoing work with Clovenstone Primary school.

We hung up our new sign and enjoyed some homemade soup, freshly baked bread and some Easter chocolatey treats. It was also great to see our daffodils out in full bloom

Clovie kids had a great day in spy law woods. We had a stone skimming competition. We checked out the river, it was very cold! Then headed to the park to run off more energy. Good times

Edible Estates runs sessions at the Wee Soup Garden on Friday afternoons 2.00pm – 4.00pm, inviting local people along to get involved with their local community growing space and enjoy some tasty homemade soup.

They also deliver homemade soup to residents in Murrayburn and Hailesland. If you know of anyone who would benefit from this initiative then please contact Stacey on 0131 453 9400 or stacey@whee.org.uk.

The soup is made using packs purchased from The Community Food Shop that is managed by Edinburgh Community Food in The Wester Hailes Library. This runs every Thursday between 11.30am and 2pm.

You can keep up to date with all the work Edible Estates is doing including the great work done by the Clovenstone Kids on their Facebook here.
