The results for the 2017 Local Government Elections has been announced with the Scottish National Party leading the council with 19 seats followed by the Conservative Party with 18 seats.
The full run down for the Council is:
SNP – 19 seats
Conservative Party – 18 seats
Labour party – 12 seats
Scottish Green Party – 8 seats
Liberal Democrat Party – 6 seats
The results for the Pentland Hills ward, where Wester Hailes is located, are:
Graeme Bruce – Scottish Conservative and Unionist – Elected at stage one
Neil Gardiner – Scottish National Party (SNP) – Elected at stage one
Ricky Henderson – Scottish Labour Party – Elected at stage one
Susan Webber – Scottish Conservative and Unionist – Elected at stage two
Electorate: 22,920
Votes Cast: 11,577
Turnout: 50.5%
