Do you remember what Hailes Quarry Park used to look like?

These photos from Edinburgh and Lothian Greenspace Trust have been digitised from 2 old colour slides. They were taken in 1976 and show what this piece of land looked like before any of the improvement work took place that transformed it from a landfill site to the green space it offers today.  You can read more about the history of Hailes Quarry Park on From There To Here

There is still plenty happening in Hailes Quarry Park with ongoing developments and activities. The park has its own Facebook page where you can keep up to date with events and plans.

There is also a Steering Group for the park which is meeting next week, Wednesday 20th November from 3.30-4.30PM at Prospect Community Housing.

If you would like to come along, or to find out more about how to get involved with the park, please contact Abby Boultbee by email, abby@elgt.org.uk or phone 0131 445 4025.
