The Digital Sentinel has been asked to lead the Twitter Q & A with Inspector Stevie Dolan of Police Scotland who looks after policing here in Wester Hailes. The event will run on Wednesday 27 November 2013 between 5 & 6pm. You can join us from the comfort of your phone or your PC!
Others who will be involved in the ‘chat’ will be from the council and Fire Scotland.
The recent multi-agency programme called Operation Cipher has been running for some time and as recently as last week Police Scotland, City of Edinburgh Council and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service set up a stall within the shopping mall to engage with customers and local businesses.
Officers provided crime prevention advice and asked the public to complete questionnaires about policing in their area, while partner agencies were on hand to give information about fire safety and the range of community services available locally.
Throughout the week, police also spoke to retailers in and around the Westside Plaza and urged them to display Police Scotland’s ‘Made From Crime’ posters, which ask communities to come forward with information relating to criminals operating in their area.
In addition, all agencies took part in an environmental audit of the area surrounding the centre to identify places and facilities in need of repair and remove any potential hazards.
So we would very much like you to join in the conversation on Twitter with us on Wednesday afternoon.
The hashtag will be #OperationCipher. Join us then!
