Catrin Sheridan joined WHALE Arts at the beginning of this week to work for 13 weeks as Creative Projects Assistant. She will support all existing creative initiatives and launch two new ones alongside local development officers.

Catrin arrives with a good pedigree having completed a twelve month stint at “Out of the Blue” in Leith, stage managing and project managing a theatre company.

She wants to gain more experience about the process of fundraising which will assist the project and enhance future ventures. Amongst other tasks she will be learning “who to apply to and how to present yourself when trying to get money from different organisations”.

Catrin has ambitions for the next five years:-“I hope to be managing my own theatre company, and helping deprived communities where they need more access to cultural and arts events.”

What are her biggest challenges? She told the Sentinel:- “I need to learn how to do the books and get the funding and run the building.”
