The Digital Sentinel and Neighbourhood News

Neighbourhood News was a project funded by the Carnegie UK Trust. It granted £10,000 to The Digital Sentinel for a year to fund research into hyperlocal media, the way the various projects are run and their sustainability.

We were very grateful to the Trust for the funding which has now come to an end. The steering group behind the Sentinel is currently looking for additional or new ways to fund this news project so if you have any ideas then we would be glad to hear from you.

Allan Farmer who is the manager of WHALE Arts the lead organisatoin behind the Digital Sentinel committed his thoughts to audio which you can listen to here.

Carnegie UK Trust have now published their final report on the whole project which involved other news websites from around the UK which is reproduced here.
