Sighthill library are looking for any old photos or memories of the Sighthill Industrial Estate for local history week. Local history week runs from 7 – 14 March 2015 and this years theme is food and drink.
Sighthill Library, in Gate 55, are asking people to share their memories of the three big food manufacturers who were based in the area. These were Milanda the bakers, Golden Wonder Crisps and Burton’s Biscuits.
They have some photographs of each of these businesses, but are aware that many local people worked there and are hoping that their may be other photographs yet to be discovered.
They are planning a photo display on the week but would like everyone to come along to their reminiscence day on Tuesday 10 March 2.00 – 4.00pm, head along and have a cup of tea or coffee and a munch on some biscuits whilst sharing your tales of the factories.
If you have any memories or photographs of working on the Sighthill Industrial Estate that you would like to share with them, please phone on 0131 529 5566 or email Sighthill.firstname.lastname@example.org
Keep an eye on their facebook page as they will be posting snippets of memories in the run up to the big day.
