Update from Edible Estates

Clovenstone Growing Hub Edible Estates WHEE community garden

Wester Hailes Edible Estates has released the following update on their facebook page.

Hi Clovie growers,

Thank you to those that came along to WAWWE last night. We had a great time looking at plants that can be grown in the garden and foraged around Wester Hailes to make nutritional and medicinal herbal teas with. We tried Egle’s Linden flower and Chamomile infusion with honey, kept those sore throats at bay with Sage and Thyme tea and tried some of Nick’s pickled elderberries also known as ‘poor man’s capers’. Next session will be on Tuesday 24th 5.15-6.45pm for some seasonal soup making. I hope to see you there.

Workshops in the garden will continue on Thursdays 11-2pm and Saturdays 1-4pm where we will be continuing with the raised beds in Area D. Come along and get stuck in!

We also have some exciting events coming up including a Spring Celebration in the community garden, Bridgend Potato Day and the Edinburgh Orchard Meeting so watch this space!
