Wester Hailes Wildlife walk a success

Wester Hailes Wildlife Walk

The first Wester Hailes Wildlife walk took place today, 26 February 2015, and the Digital Sentinel was there learning about all the local wildlife.

The walk was led by Rik Morley, who runs Wester Hailes Wildlife, with the group meeting at Wester Hailes library before strolling along the canal, past the Calders Community Garden to bridge ten, then back to the library for tea and coffee.

The group spotted a wide variety of birds including, yellowhammers, great tits, blue tits and robins. There was even some sunshine with some of the birds singing their spring songs!  The plan is for the next walk to take place on Saturday 7 March 2015.
