The Edinburgh Sketcher and STV Edinburgh paid a visit to Wester Hailes today to take part in Paint It Back, a social history walk with local resident and social historian Eoghan Howard.
The walk leaving from the Healthy Living Centre, went through the shopping centre to the standing stone in the plaza, then to the totem pole along to the Greenway to the old huts’ site before heading back to the Healthy Living Centre. Mark Kirkham the Edinburgh Sketcher came along to sketch scenes from the walk to create a sketch of people on the walk imposed on sketches of Wester Hailes’ past.
Ewen Cameron of STV Edinburgh, who is originally from Wester Hailes, came along to hear stories from the past and to interview several well known local faces about Wester Hailes, and how it has changed.
