Wester Hailes Education Centre are currently holding a fundraiser and will be selling raffle tickets to help support the Wester Hailes Educational Enhancement Association (WHEEA).
WHEEA is a registered charity which was set up to help fund opportunities for young people who attend Wester Hailes Education Centre.
Without input from WHEEA, many of our students would be unable to access a wide variety of activities which take place in their own City. The majority of students at Wester Hailes Education Centre will, at some point in their school career, have benefited from the work of WHEEA.
This year we have been able to subsidise trips to:
- The Edinburgh Festival Fringe
- The Nutcracker Ballet at King’s Theatre, Edinburgh
- Edinburgh International Book Festival
- London – Houses of Parliament and other famous landmarks
- Skiing at the Snowsports Centre, Hillend
- Overnight residential trip for new S1 students to Stirling
The charity has no administration costs – the Committee are all volunteers. All money donated is spent directly on the students of Wester Hailes Education Centre.
Tickets are available to purchase at WHEC, first prize is an iPad Air donated by Pentest Partners. The raffle will be drawn on Thursday 30 June 2016.
