Police were called to Westside Plaza this morning, Tuesday 30 August 2016, after receiving reports of a man with a firearm.
The man was detained around 9.40am and was found to be in possession of a replica handgun.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said:
Police in Edinburgh received a report of a man with a firearm near to Westside Plaza, Wester Hailes on Tuesday 30th August.
Officers detained a man nearby around 9.40 am. He was searched and found to be in possession of a replica handgun.”
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
