Wester Hailes Fun Run 2017 took place over the weekend, Sunday 25 June, with plenty of local people taking part in the great event.
This year there was a record turn out with 166 people lining up at the start. There was even a guest appearance from Children in Need mascot Pudsey Bear who posed for photos and even took part in the warm up.
After a quick warm up they were off! Several local organisations were well represented at the event with teams from WHALE Arts, SCOREscotland,the Clovenstone Amateur Boxing Club, the Open Heavens Church and many others. Councillors Ricky Henderson and Donald Wilson also came along to take part in the run.
After the race, local MSP Gordon Macdonald presented several people with awards. This year’s winners were:

The Fun Run Planning Group would like to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers and organisations that made yesterday’s event possible including Clovenstone Community Centre, Harmeny Running Club, City of Edinburgh Lions Club, Prospect Community Housing, Open Heavens Church, the Health Agency, WHEC and the Broomhouse Centre. They would also like to thank the Wester Hailes Community Trust for funding the event this year.
