New course hard at work fixing bikes in Clovie

A group of young people have been hard at work at Clovenstone Community Centre taking part in a new course where they repair and get to keep a set of bikes!

The course is a partnership work between Police Scotland and Lifelong Learning. The project launched by Sas Martinez, manager at Clovenstone Community Centre, works with Fettes police station and uses unclaimed stolen bikes which would otherwise have to be scrapped. The young people work with local bike mechanic Bill Duff to repair any damage and at the end of the course are allowed to keep the finished bikes.

There is already a group of mums who are interested in the next round of bike fixing and there are plans to do the course around the south west of Edinburgh.
