WHCT at the STV Childrens Appeal

The Wester Hailes Community Trust recently paid a visit to the STV Children’s Appeal. The Digital Sentinel met with WHCT Secretary Mo Connolly to hear how the trip went.

STV fund the Wester Hailes Community Trust and they asked if two people from the Trust could attend. It was decided that Priscilla Marongwe (the Trust’s Chairperson) and I would go to represent everyone. We were happy to head over to Gogarburn RBS to take part.

It was great to be invited and to join in with the fun. It was good to see the kids that were there handing over cheques. It was really emotional. They were performing songs and were really good. I felt honoured to be there.

It was a lot of fun, there was a buffet and free drinks. There was a lot of side stalls, a selfie booth and even a magician.  We had a lot of fun even though it was child orientated.

Sean Batty the weatherman was presenting the part I was at, I never got to speak with him but I ended up playing with his dog Harris. I was determined to get on the telly! So when I found out where they were filming one of the cheques being handed over I made sure I was there. Even though I’m at the back!

The Wester Hailes Community Trust would like to thank the STV Children’s Appeal for the invites and looks forward to working together in the future!
