The City of Edinburgh Council are looking to fill eight Community Therapist Assistant roles split across the 4 locality hubs in Edinburgh.
The posts are full time working 36 hours per week with a salary of £18,316 – £21,190. The South West roles would be based in the South West Neighbourhood Office and the Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre. Whilst these will be the bases the work will be in peoples homes in the community.
These posts will be to support the Hub in working with a discharge to assess a home first approach to care. This is an opportunity to be part of a developing ethos and service improvement for those in need of rehabilitation services to maintain them in the community. In this post you will be working closely with people to help them attain targets which will lead to them leading more independent lives in their own homes.
You will have close working relationships with both Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy staff who will provide support and planning for individuals via therapy programmes. You will be responsible for monitoring programmes and feeding back to therapy staff on progress and highlighting any difficulties encountered. You will also be responsible for safely fitting and demonstrating the use of some pieces of equipment that promote independent living. Training will be given on this aspect of the work.
We are looking for enthusiastic staff who may have had experience of working in a therapeutic setting either in hospital or in the community. You should have good communication skills and be prepared to work in a team.
