Explorathon and Doors Open day at WHALE Arts

WHALE Arts and SCOREscotland will be opening their doors on Saturday 28 September 2019, 10.00am – 2.00pm as part of Doors Open Day.

They invite everyone to come along and join in the fun celebrating 50 years of Wester Hailes and take part in all the fun of Explorathon. A Europe wide University researchers Arts and Sciences Event which will see scientists from Edinburgh Napier University holding free fun activities for all the family.

Doors Open Day is your chance to explore some of Edinburgh’s architecturally and culturally significant buildings – all for free. From heritage landmarks to the city’s newest architecture, Doors Open Day offers free access to properties that are either not usually open to the public or would normally charge an entry fee. The event also offers the public an opportunity to find out more about the capital’s public buildings.

WHALE Arts Centre is a community arts venue built in 2000, designed by Zoo Architects and funded through the Scottish Arts Council. The building is a unique community asset that provides a range of high-quality creative spaces, arts workshop, performance space and garden.
