Edinburgh Council Announce Closure of City Venues and School Trips

The City of Edinburgh Council have given the following update announcing the closure of city venues and cancellation of school trips.


All performances at the Usher Hall, Assembly Rooms, Church Hill Theatre and Ross Bandstand have been postponed or cancelled until the end of April.

All of our Museum and Galleries (City Art Centre, Museum of Edinburgh, Museum of Childhood, The People’s Story, The Writers’ Museum, Queensferry Museum, Lauriston Castle, Scott Monument and Nelson Monument) will be closed until the end of April.

The Wedding Fayre, scheduled for Sunday 29 March, at the City Chambers has been cancelled. 

All school trips, domestic and international and including day trips and residential events/experiences have been cancelled. This includes Wester Hailes Education Centre’s planned trip to Paris in May 2020 and Forrester High School’s planned Activities Week, London Dance trip, London/Paris trip, and any other trips such as Duke of Edinburgh training and expeditions.
