Starcatchers would like to invite artists who are interested in working with early years audiences and their families, to attend a playday in Wester Hailes, with a view to joining their team of freelancers.
This opportunity is open to applicants with an artistic practice who are interested in working with early years. The Playday will enable you to meet Starcatchers staff and artists and introduce what we do, as well as an opportunity to talk about what inspires you, and to spend some time with our participants.
The day will comprise of:
- Introductions
- Early years development session
- Time to explore ideas with babies.
Fee:
There will be a fee of £150, payable on receipt of an invoice. Travel and childcare bursaries are available

- A short biography, including any experience you have working with early years,
- A creative idea that you would like to explore with early years audiences/ participants.
- Availability to work on Saturdays/ in Wester Hailes/ in Fife
They will accept applications in the format that best suits you to apply, whether it’s an audio file, video, or written. Please send to Jenny by 5pm on Monday 24th July.
If places are oversubscribed, artists will be selected by a panel of Starcatchers artists currently working in the community.
All artists who work with Starcatchers will be required to join the PVG Scheme before being offered work with children.
If you are selected the recruitment event will take place on 28 August 2023.
