The Wester Hailes Community Trust in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council will be holding a Community Walk along the Canal to identify key points for the canal’s improvement and upgrades.
The walk will take place following the HLC Anniversary celebrations on August 31st from approximately 3.00pm – 4.00pm, meeting at the Wester Hailes Road Entrance of the Canal, at the Totem Pole, across from the Plaza.
This is the first step in a number of towpath upgrades, many of which are outlined in the Edinburgh Union Canal Strategy, which the council would like your input on. This walk is in collaboration with the City of Edinburgh Council and Scottish Canals and is in accordance with Project 13 (Canal Improvements) of the Wester Hailes Local Place Plan 2.0.
