Edinburgh West MP Mike Crockart says that the cut in claimant count shows Liberal Democrats are getting people back to work
The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in Edinburgh West has fallen by 313 people in the last year.
The ONS (Office for National Statistics) also said employment in Scotland increased by 9,000 over the quarter and was up by 92,000 on the same period in 2012.
Commenting on the figures, Mr Crockart said:-“This recovery would not be happening without the Liberal Democrats in Government.
“We have helped business create more than a million private sector jobs and now we are working to help create a million more.
“Today’s news is further proof our plan is working and we are successfully rebuilding a stronger economy, in a fairer society.”
