Stitch ‘n’ Time

Tuesdays, 1pm – 3pm

14 January – 1 April

Do you enjoy sewing, knitting and crafts? Join in with the friendly women’s textile group and be led by a qualified tutor. Learn something new or improve an existing talent – items made will be used to help the local community or sold in our internet shop. All skill levels are welcome!

Get Connected – Drop in computer sessions

Tuesdays from 7 January, 1:30pm – 4:30pm

Do you need help with computers? Do you want to shop or talk to your friends and family online? Or learn how to use a computer to improve your job prospects?  Digital Skills Academy lead this drop in session to support learning of all IT skills. Just drop in for one session or come regularly and you could gain accredited IT qualifications.

South West Sounds

Thursdays, 11am – 6.30pm (three sessions)

16 January – 3 April

Our Musician in Residence Rod Jones (Idlewild, The Birthday Suit) continues to lead these weekly workshops for any local musicians. No matter what instrument you play, what type of music you like and what standard you are at, Rod will find a group that suits you. Write songs, rehearse, perform and record your music together. Funded by Creative Scotland.

Drama @ WHALE

Thursdays, 7pm – 9pm

24 January – 10 April

Bring out your dramatic side and get on stage with our group – WHALEs Without a Cause. For beginners as well as those with some drama experience, this friendly group create and perform their own work.

Let’s DANCE!

Thursdays, 7pm – 8:30pm

24 January – 10 April (holiday 6 and 13 February)

Social dancing for the over 40s. Relaxed and fun with expert dance tuition – a great way to get fit after the holidays. This term the group will be continuing to learn ceilidh dancing.
£2 per session

Chattering Chapters

Thursdays, 1:30pm – 3pm

27 February, and 27 March

A Book Group for parents and their friends. Read a book together and come to WHALE Arts once a month to chat about it. Books, crèche and cups of tea provided.

Access to Creative Arts

Monday to Friday, 10am – 2:30pm

Start Date: 27 January 2014, completes June 2014 (holiday 4 – 22 April)
Want to get in to a creative arts course but don’t have the qualifications or experience? This course is a great first step if you want to study media and the arts at college and need an access route. You’ll study multi-media, photography, radio, animation and more, and can gain up to 8 SQA modules.
Classes are based at WHALE Arts and delivered by Edinburgh College.
