The Digital Sentinel was shocked to see the sign at the back of the Healthy Living Centre has already been defaced.

We spoke to the City of Edinburgh Council who now manage the building and a spokeswoman said:-

“It is extremely disappointing that the sign has been defaced in this way. We are aware of how unsightly it now is and are considering the most appropriate way to resolve the issue.”

The Healthy Living Centre opened its doors to the public on 20 August 2013. It cost £12m in a joint venture between NHS Lothian and The City of Edinburgh Council. The centre provides a one stop shop for health issues, dentistry and social care for the Wester Hailes community.

The remainder of the site will be used to build affordable housing and construction is expected to start this year.

On a happier note we are pleased to report that the underpass has now been opened making it easier for those in wheelchairs or mobility scooters or those with small children in prams to access the facility.
