Share your views on community activities in Wester Hailes

I am part of a team of people who are doing some research into the effectiveness of recent community projects that have run in the Wester Hailes area. As part of this research, we are looking for Wester Hailes’ residents (who are over 18 years of age) who would be willing to share their views on various community activities as part of a small discussion group. The discussion groups will take place at the WHALE Arts centre in Wester Hailes at the end of July, and we hope to have about 6-10 people in each discussion. Each discussion will last for about one a half hours. We will record the discussion, and use the things that people say as part of our evaluation. However, all comments will be used anonymously.

Everyone who takes part in a discussion group will receive a £10 shopping voucher as a thank you for taking part.

If you think you might be interested in taking part in one of these discussion groups, then you can contact me (Laura Brown) for more information. You can either email me at: laura.brown@manchester.ac.uk or phone me on: 0161 275 2563. If I am not at my desk when you phone, then just leave your name and telephone number, and I will phone you back.

Unfortunately, only a limited number of people can take part in these discussion groups, and so it is possible that not everyone who wants to take part will be able to do so.

The project is led by Dr Peter Matthews at Heriot-Watt University, along with Prospect, WHALE, the Health Agency, and the University of Manchester.

Many thanks for your time

Laura
