Write On! new writing group

A new writing group for people in South Edinburgh will be running once a week for 6 weeks. The group will meet every Thursday from 3.30pm – 4.30pm from 6 November to 11 December at Tynecastle Community Wing, part of Tynecastle High School, McLeod Street, Edinburgh, EH11 2ND.

Write On! is run by Health All Round, a community health project and registered charity, and aims to encourage people to try writing as something new or exercise their writing skills. The group aims to be friendly and supportive and focused on writing for pleasure rather than critiquing writing style. The sessions will be structured around writing prompts to help kickstart your imagination. They welcome people interested in any form of writing including fiction, memoir and poetry, as well as people who are completely new to creative writing.

Creative writing can boost overall wellbeing.  The group welcomes participants experiencing emotional or physical health problems, however please note that it is not a therapy group.

Participants must register in advance.  Contact Rose at Health All Round for more information on 0131 337 1376 or Rose@healthallround.org.uk.

You can also visit their drop in at 24 Westfield Avenue, EH11 2QH. Mondays 10am – 12pm, Wednesdays 10am – 2pm & Thursdays 12pm – 2pm.
