Phase two of the new recycling service, which includes Murrayburn, Dumbryden, Harvesters, Hailesland and Clovenstone rolls out this week.

Those in phase two will have their non-recycled rubbish collected using their green bins for the last time before the green bins are used for mixed recycling and their new grey bins are used for non-recycled rubbish. All residents should have received information packs and calendars to help them adjust to the change, though recycling advisors will also be on hand to help.

You can find out more information, and you can check if your street is included in the new service, on the council website.

The new service includes:

Green bin – Tins, cans, paper, cardboard, envelopes, plastic bottles and bottle tops, pots, tubs and trays-put the items in loose, do not use plastic or black bags
Blue box – Glass, batteries, small electricals and textiles
New Grey wheelie bin – All waste that can’t be recycled
Red box – No longer used
Food waste bin – All food waste
Brown bin – Garden waste
