Monday’s Social History Walk was declared a success by the group made up of SCORE Scotland who were entertained by local walk leader Eoghan Howard.
The group met at WHALE Arts centre and went for a short walk around Wester Hailes.
The route took them from Westburn along to Harvesters, around to the Green Way then back through Murrayburn to the Plaza and finally finishing back where they started. A great deal of interesting information and stories were shared with the group as they visited the Health Agency and the Totem Pole. By the end many had learned new shortcuts!
The Social History Walk group are looking for community members, who would be willing to contribute some local stories and information for future walks or even become walk leaders themselves. Training and support would be provided to anyone interested in becoming a walk leader. For more information please contact Fiona on Fional@whhealthagency.
