The Lord Provost, the Rt Hon Donald Wilson, paid SCOREscotland a visit to personally deliver a cheque for £2000.
The Lord Provost as local Councillor for the Sighthill and Gorgie ward, spoke with SCOREscotland staff, learning about the work they do. He explained he is a big fan of the environmental work done by the Green Futures project and was shown the environmental impact award won by SCOREscotland.
The councillor added that he was a keen supporter of green power and that he was even wearing a solar powered watch.
After the cheque presentation the Lord Provost discussed with staff the help the group receives from local government and the police. He also heard about the work they do with other community groups such as the Wester Hailes Community Council. The Wester Hailes Fun Run was also discussed with the Lord Provost mentioning that he was so inspired by the event that he was considering entering the London Marathon.
