Bee survey group looking for volunteers

DS Canal bridge

Interested in bumblebees and want to get outside and learn new skills along the Canal?

The Scottish Waterways Trust are  looking for volunteers to be part of a brand new Bumblebee survey project along the Union Canal in Edinburgh, starting next month.

Groups will collect valuable information about Bumblebees, learn surveying skills and find out how you can help to protect this species in decline.

They will be reporting their findings to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s ‘Bee Walk’ bee monitoring project. Information gathered will give an idea of the types and numbers of bees that exist along this stretch of the canal.

Anyone can take part in a Bumblebee survey – all you need is enthusiasm and a love for bumblebees. All levels of knowledge welcome.

Register your interest by contacting Alan: alan@scottishwaterwaystrust.org.uk or phoning 07768 951740.
