Robbery on Gorgie Road

Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses following a robbery that happened around 9.15am on Saturday 30th May at Ladbrokes Bookmakers, Gorgie Road.

Two men entered the building and vaulted the counter before threatening a member staff and demanding money.

They then left with a four-figure sum of cash and ran into the rear gardens at Westfield Road before last being seen in Stevenson Road, Edinburgh.

Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.

The first suspect is described as a :

White male
Late twenties.
Around 5ft 5″ in height with a broad, athletic build.
Wearing a grey/blue hooded top, dark jogging bottoms and white training shoes.

The second suspect is also described as :

White male
Late twenties.
Around 5ft 5″ in height with a slim build.
Wearing a grey hooded top with yellow logo on left breast,
dark jogging bottoms and black training shoes.

This will have been a busy area at the time and undoubtedly someone will have seen the suspects. Anyone who was in the Gorgie Road area of Edinburgh at around 9.15am on Saturday morning and remembers seeing anything suspicious are asked to contact the police immediately on 101 or via CrimeStopers on 0800 555 111.
