The Edinburgh Mela is offering an opportunity for young people to take part in a project that will let them perform at this year’s Mela Festival. They are looking for young people aged between 11-17 to get involved whether they have a background in music and dance or are complete beginners. Working with partners Oi-Musica and Dance Ihayami, the project will fuse a variety of world music and dance to create a performance piece that will be showcased at the Mela Festival on the 29th August.
The project runs from the 3rd to the 14th August Monday-Friday 10AM-4PM and it is free to take part. The workshops are being held over at Edinburgh College’s Milton Road campus but the project does provide free bus passes as well as refreshments.
