Wester Hailes Land & Property Development Company Ltd has traded in Wester Hailes since 1987 to promote the development of commercial land in the area.
The company, also known as LPT, works to benefit the people of the Wester Hailes area and profits are reinvested into the Wester Hailes Community.
Any individual aged 18 or over who is a resident of Wester Hailes is eligible for membership of LPT. Membership costs a one off fee of £1.
As of 2011 total funds of £1,319,983 have been reinvested within the local Wester Hailes Community by LPT through their donation scheme and more recently they have provided a further: –
- £61,000 in match funding donated to Wester Hailes Youth Agency to build an annex at their Pyramid site enabling them to deliver all services from under one roof with a further £22,366 donated for the installation of new boilers, roof maintenance and landscaping to complete the project.
- £233,100 donated to the Wester Hailes LPT Educational Trust which aims to advance education and in particular to assist young people aged 21 or under resident within the WHEC catchment area who are no longer in full time school education to gain further/higher educational qualifications, by providing grants to help meet the cost of books and/or other educational materials, fees and/or living expenses.
