Local textile group Stitch ‘n’ Time have donated their latest creation a handmade Christmas tree Advent Calendar to Clovenstone Community Centre to help spread some festive cheer!
The group have spent the past several weeks crafting the tree. Which stands over a metre tall. complete with bells and stars. They even packed candy canes into the pockets so it was all ready to go. Stitch ‘n’ Time welcomed Clovenstone Community Centre employees Sas Martinez and Soozin Rogers today to collect the tree which will be used by the Centre’s childrens’ groups.
The donation of the advent calendar is just the latest in a series of donations by the group to the community. Previously they donated a series of props from Julia Donaldson’s Jack and the Flum Flum Tree to Hailesland Early Years Centre. Over the years they have also made donations to Dads Rock, Clovenstone House, Wester Hailes library, the Calders Community Garden and some of the childrens’ groups at WHALE.
