Police Scotland January Report

Police Scotland Community Policing Team gave a short report to members of the Wester Hailes Community Council yesterday detailing some of the crime that took place around Wester Hailes in January.

  • 3 Housebreakings – 1 solved
  • 28 assaults- 13 solved
  • 4 cases of drink driving
  • 2 cases of driving without insurance or a licence
  • 26 thefts
  • 1 case of racially aggravated behaviour

PC Chancellor then went into detail about some of the work they have been doing around the area including targeting drug dealing at the Plaza. He reported that police had made 11 positive drug stops and had arrested two of the more prolific individuals who were known to be involved. Other incidents included a male youth who was found on the construction site at Hailesland place being charged with intent to steal.
