New Community Food shop launched in Healthy Living Centre

Tasting Change launched their new Community Food shop at the Healthy Living Centre today offering fresh, seasonal fruit and veg as well as a selection of tasty nibbles.

The new Community Food shop will now run every Tuesday at the Healthy Living Centre, 10.00am – 2.00pm, offering fresh, seasonal fruit and veg grown at the Cyrenians farm and a selection of tasty nibbles from Edinburgh Community Food.

The shop offers discounted rates for local residents and also runs a pay it forward scheme, allowing people to pay in advance or extra when they make a purchase to allow someone else to eat for free.

Please note the Thursday Food Co-op run by Edinburgh Community Food at the Healthy Living Centre will continue, every Thursday 10.00am – 2.00pm.

Tasting Change is a multi agency partnership that has been set up to tackle food insecurity and promote positive food and health opportunities in the Wester Hailes area of Edinburgh. This is to be achieved over 18 months through a range of FREE project delivered by four community partners, the Health Agency, SCOREscotland, CHAI and WHALE Arts Agency.

The group is looking for volunteers to help with the shop, for more information or to volunteer contact the Tasting Change project coordinator, Stacey Wilson on 07733342547 or stacey@thehealthagency.org.uk.
