Westburn Grove Fire

The Scottish and Fire Rescue Service were called to attend a fire in Westburn Grove on Sunday 6 May 2018.

Three fire appliances were called to a fire within a block of flats in Westburn Grove just after 9.00pm on Sunday. One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and later transferred to the Scottish Ambulance Service for care.

A spokesman from SFRS said:

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 9.18pm to reports of a fire within a block of flats in Edinburgh.

Operations Control mobilised three fire engines and a height appliance to the four-storey building on Westburn Grove.

One casualty suffering from minor smoke inhalation was treated at the scene by firefighters, before being passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Crews extinguished the fire and left at 9.53pm after ensuring the area was made safe.
