Firefighters attended a blaze at one of the Hailesland highrise blocks yesterday, Wednesday 3 June 2020, after a fire broke out in a second storey flat.
Crews were at the scene from around 5.30pm, mobilising several fire appliances and a height vehicle. They were at the scene until after 6.20pm and two people were passed into care of paramedics.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:
We were alerted 5.25pm on Wednesday, June 3 to reports of a fire within a flat at high rise building at Hailesland Park, Edinburgh. Four appliances and one height vehicle were mobilised to the scene, and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished a fire within the kitchen of a second storey flat. Two casualties suffering from smoke inhalation were passed into care of paramedics. Crews left at 6.21pm.
