Over the last month, Go Beyond have been in communications with local residents, City of Edinburgh council workers and Prospect Housing staff to hear opinions and suggestions for the Kickabout area in Dumbeg Park which was highlighted through the Community Wealth Building Project as an area which needs attention.
As per the responses, it is clear that, from the people who responded to the survey, change is something local residents would be keen to see. The main areas highlighted have been regarding the surrounding woodland area, concerns over not enough bins, lighting and structural damage (including suggestion for resurface) and broken glass.
The next steps include further discussions with CEC and Prospect as well as a Community Gathering to consult together and make future, community based and led plans for the area. Date for the event is TBC, watch this space!
