Wester Hailes Library Science Festival

Wester Hailes library will be holding a Library Science Festival next week as part of their Easter activities to tie in the some of the events happening in the city for The Edinburgh Science Festival.

  • Tuesday 11th April – Come and make some slime with us or take part in our epic lego challenges. 2-4pm
  • Wednesday 12th April – Get involved in our musical science and think about how music works and what musical instruments we can make out of some simple library supplies! As well as taking on our Beebot Maze challenge, can you code our little friend through the “plaza” on an epic journey? 2-4pm
  • Thursday 13th April – Join us for making your own fossils and exploring our miniature archaeology dig, as well as learning some amazing stuff about the solar system and how to find constellations. 2.30pm-4pm
  • Friday 14th April – Can you be the next big car manufacturer? Make the ultimate eco-powered car using thin air, literally! As well as getting all your digits in order and creating a bionic hand. 2-4pm

Open to all science explorers, although those under the age of 8 should be accompanied by an adult. All activities are free.

The library will also be holding their family fun day tomorrow April 2023.
