Police Scotland BAME Recruitment Event

Digital Sentinel Police Scotland Logo

Police Scotland will be holding an information event targeted to Scotland’s ethnic minority communities on Thursday 18 May 2023, 6.00pm – 9.0pm at Fettes Police Station.

At Police Scotland we believe that our police officers should reflect the diversity of our society. We encourage anyone from an ethnic minority background and thinking of becoming a police officer to take those next steps.

If you are thinking of joining Police Scotland and want to know more, come along to our recruitment information event that we are hosting aimed at those from an ethnic minority background.

To secure a place, please email RecruitmentPositiveActionTeam@scotland.police.uk

Their Positive Action Team will talk you through the application process, the entry tests and what to expect during the 12 week training period.

These events are for groups currently under-represented in Police Scotland. The consent, support and cooperation of our fellow citizens lies at the heart of the identity and legitimacy of policing in Scotland.

To ensure that bond is as strong as possible, we must fully represent and reflect the communities we serve. Inclusion is an operational necessity and morally the right thing to do.

We are committed to increasing the number of officers and staff from under-represented groups. There are well documented barriers to some people applying to join the police service. We therefore run a number of different recruitment events to answer specific questions from people from diverse communities. This is to make sure everyone has fair access to the Police Scotland recruitment process.

Applications to join Police Scotland are welcome from all suitable candidates, and you can find out more on their website.
